This year’s edition of the Tribeca Film Festival is coming up fast. Located in the same neighborhood as the Duane Street Hotel, this globally renowned cinematic event always draws a lot of excitement. Set to run throughout the second half of April 2015, the festival will be divided into a series of film category competitions and industry-related events.
Prospective attendees can choose their ideal festival experience from the event’s various passes and packages. The most expansive and versatile package is the Hudson Pass, which comes with access to all evening-, weekend- and matinee-priced screenings, as well as access to all major parties and panels. From there, the variety of festival passes fluctuates in price and accessibility suiting different patrons’ limitations for spending of money and time. There are also simple ticket packages geared more directly toward screenings than events.
The Tribeca Film Festival will feature different categories of films selected from hundreds of thousands of entries from around the world. Films have already been selected for the festival’s World Narrative Competition, World Documentary Competition, and the Viewpoint Section. The rest of the festival’s selections will be announced between now and the start of the event. It’s also already been announced that the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival will open with a documentary on New York City’s beloved sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. The film is appropriately titled, Live from New York!
As one of the world’s premier film festivals, the Tribeca competition screens several incredible films each year while also drawing an extraordinary crowd of talented artists, film critics, and fans. As the buzz from the dense concentration of enthusiastic cinephiles increases, more and more brand events and film discussions will pop up around the city. For those interested in attending, be sure to explore the various packages and passes available now before they sell out. Also, be sure to visit the Tribeca Film Festival site for information on the films that have already been selected and to keep an eye out for future picks.
