Christmas season is as romantic in New York City as it is anywhere else in the world, and it annual begins with the late-November Rockefeller Tree Lighting. Illuminating a giant tree that always sits in front of the iconic Rockefeller Center, the event is a can’t-miss with live performances and a rollicking crowd. This year, the tree will remain lit and available for viewing between West 48th and 51st streets and Fifth and Sixth avenues until January 7th. If you’re in town to catch the initial lighting, you will not regret coming out for it.
