The lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center is a symbolic gesture that the holiday season has begun in NYC. Thousands flock to the heart of Midtown Manhattan for this popular attraction—where world renowned artists sing, dance and skate in the new season. The event is free for the public to attend, but you’ll certainly want to arrive early as the square becomes quite crowded due to the popularity of the event. The lighting will take place from 7-9pm on Wednesday, November 29th and the tree will stay lit until 9pm on January 7, 2018.
