The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is one of the biggest holiday celebrations in NYC and is not to be missed. The Rockettes are legendary for a reason — they are practically an NYC institution. Founded in 1925, the Rockettes are a staple on Broadway and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular is one of the most watched TV programs of the year. The performance is 90 minutes in length and is perfect for the entire family. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular runs from November 7 until December 31, 2014. The revue is comprised of singing, dancing and, of course, the Rockettes’ rendition of holiday classic tunes like ‘The Nutcracker Theme’ and ‘Here Comes Santa Claus.’
Before the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starts, take a photo with a Rockette or Santa! Be sure to account for the lengthy lines for photo-ops. Getting to Radio Hall City music hall is simple and easy, it’s located at 120 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) between W 50th and W 51st Streets. We recommend taking the subway to get there — take the B, D, F or M to 47th-50th/Rockefeller Center and walk north two blocks, or the 1 to 50th St./Broadway and walk two blocks east to 6th Avenue
After the show, the holiday fun can continue at the iconic ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center! There are fun holiday-themed activities galore on Times Square. Shop for loved ones at the landmark Macy’s; go on a winter white carriage ride with piping hot chocolate OR stop and let your nose lead you and pick up a warm bag of nuts perfect for sharing with your family (or eating all on your own!) Continue your cultural experience and check out The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center, which runs from late-November until early January.
