In just over a week, the Taste of Tribeca festival will bring together over 60 of the neighborhoods favorite restaurants for a day of tastings and wine and beer tours. In Duane Street’s home neighborhood, where restaurants are known around the world for progressive and upscale cuisine, a culinary event of this magnitude is sure to impress. To offer a bit of local insight, here are some restaurants you must sample treats from at Taste of Tribeca.
An all-star in the kitchen, Chef David Bouley has taken care of diners for years in his seasonal, high end restaurant. With the restaurant serving up dishes like porcini flan and the Forager’s Treasure of Wild Mushrooms, Taste of Tribeca patrons can expect something extraordinary from Bouley at this year’s festival.
My Belly’s Playlist
In addition to having one of the most creative names around, My Belly’s Playlist is also one of the neighborhoods best sandwich shops. They keep it simple, yet flavorful with dishes like the Doppleganger, which comes equipped with roasted turkey, slightly spicy pepperoni, provolone and horseradish cream. Whether they serve original concoctions or special little bites for Taste of Tribeca, My Belly’s Playlist will undoubtedly delight.
An historical staple in Tribeca, the Odeon is will be the most iconic establishment at this year’s festival. Their menu spans a wide array of various American diner and progressive dishes. From tuna burgers on challah to steak tartare, anything is possible with the Odeon. While what they’ll serve at the festival is uncertain, one thing always rings true with The Odeon, the food is fresh and plentiful.
On the cutting edge of the seemingly bizarre culture hodgepodge culinary style that’s so popular in New York City, Revolution Sandwich makes phenomenal, original sandwiches. Likely to serve up some peking duck tacos, or jerk pork sandwiches with pineapples and plantains, this restaurant will be one of the hottest participants at Taste of Tribeca.
Zucker’s Bagels & Smoked Fish
Our last suggestion is one of the most important restaurant participants for guests to visit. Zucker’s Bagels and Smoked Fish epitomizes the classic Jewish deli that’s famous throughout New York. Be sure to try their mini bagels with lox along with any other samples they have to offer.
