2019 Radio City Christmas Spectacular

November 8th-January 5th

There are few events as spectacular as the annual Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes. The immersive production showcases the world-famous synchronized leg kicks, mesmerizing dance numbers, and brilliant sets that consume a Rockettes show.

For nearly a century, this dance troupe has been a mainstay of American entertainment. Radio City Music Hall has been the venue for hundreds of their spectacular performances, and it will once again host the Christmas show. Over the years, the group has also joined the USO and travelled abroad to entertain troops. Take part in a New York City tradition and witness an American treasure at this year’s Christmas Spectacular.

Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden

December 11th

There are few artists as associated with New York City than the iconic Billy Joel. The singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer created timeless hits like “Piano Man,” “Uptown Girl,” and “New York State of Mind.” Naturally, whenever Joel steps foot inside the storied arena that is Midtown’s Madison Square Garden, there’s an eruption of energy that simply defies explanation. Now, add the holiday season into that mix, and you’ve got a recipe for an unforgettable show.

Joel is performing three more shows at MSG this winter, including a special holiday edition in December. Once the Piano Man rouses the crowd with New York-centric classics, he’ll add in some Christmas classics to provide an essential experience for a traveler looking to discover how Manhattan does the holidays.

Bryant Park Winter Village

Every year, Bryant Park welcomes The Winter Village as it transforms into a winter wonderland for the holiday season. The pop-up space stays up throughout the latter half of fall, and the first half of winter. It features artisanal food booths representing some of the area’s best chefs, as well as boutique vendors selling gifts created by local artisans. The European-inspired, open-air market is a must for family travelers.

The shops provide a wealth of holiday shopping opportunities. You can peruse apparel and accessories from small, artful boutiques, artwork from some of the city’s upcoming creatives, health and beauty products, jewelry, games and clothes for children, sweets and so much more. When the shopping gets tired, treat yourself to a refreshing ice skate on the rink at the Bryant Park Winter Village.

To get a taste of the most iconic sight associated with New York City during the holiday season, stop by the vibrant and towering Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree this season. You can look up at the brilliant light display, and the towering skyscrapers beyond. You can stand among the crowds and even go for an ice skate at another iconic annual pop-up rink.

Around the corner, the world-famous window displays of the 5th Avenue department stores await to bring your Manhattan holiday adventure full circle. In addition to the window displays, and the tree at Rockefeller Center, other classic Christmas attractions in the city include the annual Holiday Train Show, SantaCon, and movies like Home Alone. Be sure to include these landmark attractions on your itinerary this next visit.
